Box Score SUPERIOR, Wis.-- North Central fell behind by multiple goals in the first ten minutes and could not get enough offense going to rebound in a loss to the University of Wisconsin-Superior. The Rams fell 4-0 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference opener for both teams in Superior on Saturday afternoon.
North Central (0-3-0, 0-1-0 UMAC) conceeded a pair of goals to the Yellowjackets on two of the home team's first three shots and the Rams trailed 2-0 just 10:19 into the match. Another Jackets' goal came in the 26th minute before the Rams had registered a shot.
North Central was outshot 14-2 in the first half and trailed 3-0. The Rams had a bit more of the ball to start the second half but the final goal of the game came just after the one hour mark to seal a controlled win for UWS.
Overall, the Rams were outshot 25-4 on the afternoon. Junior David Afolabi (Champlin Park, Minn./Itasca Community College) recorded a pair of shots for NCU while goal keeper Andrew Eliason (Ypsilanti, Mich./Milan) made six saves in a ful 90 minute appearance.
North Central will be back in action on Tuesday in another UMAC road game. The Rams travel down 35W north for a evening game under the lights against The University of Northwestern (St. Paul, Minn.). Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Reynolds Field.
