Box Score MINNEAPOLIS-- After a tight first quarter The University of Wisconsin-Superior used their depth and size advantage to wear out the Rams at home on Friday night. North Central fell to the visiting Yellowjackets, 85-54 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play.
After trailing just 20-19 after the first ten minutes, the Rams posted just nine points in the second and Wisconsin-Superior (Superior, Wis.) pulled away with a 24 point period and never looked back. Over the second and third quarters UWS outscored the Rams 48-21 and began emptying their bench, playing 18 players.
KEY SEQUENCE OF THE GAME
North Central was able to hang around for about the first 15 minutes before UW-Superior took firm control. NCU trailed 35-28 with 2:47 left in the second quarter and had a couple chances to get even closer but came up short both times.
With around two minutes left the Yellowjackets hit a free throw but missed a second and got an offensive rebound and canned an open wing jumper. After a turnover by NCU, Superior added four free throws and a lay-up at the buzzer to score the final nine points and take a 44-28 lead the the break.

- North Central was pounded 51-24 on the boards
- The Yellowjackets depth wore out the Rams who shot just .298 on the night while UWS stayed fresh and fired .531 from the floor
- Despite a pressing and trapping defense by the Jackets, NCU only committed one more turnover than Superior (19-18)
KEY PERFORMERS OF THE GAME
Sophomore Lizzy Swanson (Askov, Minn./East Central) led all scores with 22 points and senior Jamie High (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) managed a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds with 3 assists and 3 steals.
