MINNEAPOLIS-- Women's Basketball played a great first quarter and built a double-figure lead in the first half before The College of St. Scholastica took advantage of Rams foul trouble to pull away for the win. The Saints defeated North Central, 64-54 on Saturday.

North Central (3-10, 1-7 UMAC) led 17-9 after a quarter and were up by double-figures in the second quarter before senior Jamie High (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo) picked up her third foul five minutes into the period. St. Scholastic would fight back to within 28-27 at the break.

St. Scholastic would grab the lead early in the third quarter and slowly start to pull away when Jamie High picked up her fourth foul with just less than six minutes to play in the quarter. St. Scholastica would lead 49-38 after three and their lead would be less than 10 just once more in the game.

KEY SEQUENCE

Jamie High was on her way to a big game, posting seven points, six boards, two blocks and a steal in the first quarter. But foul trouble would force a rationing of minutes that took away the Rams momentum. With 5:56 to go in the third and St. Scholastica leading 35-31, High was whistled for her fourth. CSS went on an 8-0 run over the next two minutes and North Central never fully recovered.

KEY PERFORMERS

Sophomore Lizzy Swanson (Askov, Minn./East Central) scored a game high 21 points for the Rams. Jamie High posted 14 points while sophomore Marissa Kari (Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes) added 13 points for NCU.

North Central travels to Faith Baptist Bible College (Ankeny, Iowa) on Tuesday for an NCCAA regional game. The Rams and Eagles are set for a 6:30 p.m. tip-off.
