Rams Suffer Tough Loss On The Road

NEW ULM, Minn. – North Central University women's soccer traveled to New Ulm, Minnesota on Saturday afternoon for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) matchup against Martin Luther. In the contest the Rams played tough and through adversity but eventually fell 5-0 to the Knights.

In the first half the Rams fell behind in the 14th minute to an unmarked runner in the box and the Knights added to the lead again in the 23rd minute from an outside run into the middle of the field. The first half would end in favor of the Knights 2-0. In the second half of play the Rams played together to rally a more cohesive effort but eventually conceded three more goals before the final whistle. Monica Herrera (Capac, Mich./Capac) registered 15 saves on the day and worked to keep the Rams competitive against a strong Martin Luther offense.

The Rams will compete again on Tuesday afternoon in Elliot Park against Crown College at 3:15 p.m. The Rams will then play again on Saturday afternoon for North Central University's Homecoming festivities against Northland College at 3:15 p.m. in an UMAC game.
