ST. PAUL, Minn.-- North Central opened their 2016 campaign on Wednesday indoors with a split double-header at the West St. Paul Sports Dome. The Rams dropped both parts of the double-header, 9-0 to Concordia College and 11-4 at the hands of Finlandia University.

In game one the Rams never got their offense going and were held hitless over a five inning defeat by Concordia College (Moorhead, Minn.). The Cobbers popped the Rams for nine runs, seven earned, on nine hits. Sophomore Abbey Erzberger (Milwaukee, Wis./Christian Heritage) was 0-1 with a walk and two stolen bases. Sophomore Kylee Bommersbach (Sartell, Minn./Sartell) struckout four in her first pitching appearance of the year.

North Central was able to manufacture a few runs in an 11-4 loss to Finlandia University (Houghton, Mich.) but allowed nine earned runs and six extra base hits over the seven inning defeat. Kylee Bombersbach posted seven strikeouts but the Rams only recorded a pair of hits on the offensive end. Junior Holly Pieper (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake) was 1-3 at the plate with a run scored. Sophomore Danelle Pageler (Warren, Minn./Warren-Alvarado-Oslo) was also 1-3 at the plate.

The Rams will have a chance to get in the win column again on Friday when they host a collection of games at the Plymouth Dome (Plymouth, Minn.. North Central is scheduled to play Maranatha Baptist University (Watertown, Wis.) at 8 a.m. before taking on Martin Luther College (New Ulm, Minn.) at 12 p.m.
