In game one the Rams struggled at the plate posting just four hits and totaling just five baserunners while striking out six times over seven innings in the loss. Freshman Bryce Riege (Marshall, Wis./Marshall) and Cory Kukkola (Fountain Hills, Ariz./Fountain Hills) were each 1-3 with a double.
Game two was better for the Rams from an offensive stand point though they had to overcome four errors in the field. North Central trailed 3-1 through four innings before they got a big inning that proved to be the difference.
Freshman Elijah Valder (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) led off the fifth with a double to left center but the next two Rams were retired. Freshman Bobby Donohoe (Traverse City, Mich./Traverse City, West.) then reached on an error that moved Valder to third.
Bryce Riege then singled to drive in Valder and moved Donohoe to second. Senior Cody Van Sickle (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem) was then hit by a pitch to load the bases for Freshman Tate Andrews (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids). Andrews smacked a double that cleared the bases and gave NCU 5-3 lead. The Rams kept the Sabercats off the scoreboard in the fifth, sixth and seventh to take the win.
