Box Score 2 MANKATO, Minn.-- Rams baseball went on the road for a pair of conference games on Wednesday afternoon. They came up on the short end in both games losing 10-0 and 14-4 to Bethany Lutheran College.
In game one the Rams mustered just four hits and fell behind early in a shut out loss. The Vikings jumped out 7-0 through two innings and while NCU held them to just three more over the final five frames, the visitors never got their offense going. Freshman Bobby Donohoe (Traverse City, Mich./Traverse City West) went 2-3 as one of the bright spots for North Central.
Game two was an improvement on offense for North Central who got a run right away but still trailed 3-1 after an inning. The Rams managed to stay within 3-2 after three innings but from there it was all Bethany Lutheran.
The Vikings posted eight in the fourth including a pair of unearned runs and another off a wild pitch. The Rams would get two more back in the sixth but never threatened to make it close the rest off the way.
Freshman Tate Andrews (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) was 2-3 with 3 RBI and a double. Junior Caleb Wyre (Scottsbluff, Neb./Gering) was 1-4 with a double.
North Central goes back on the road tomorrow for non-conference action. The Rams take on Crown College (St. Bonifacius, Minn.) at 5 p.m.
