Rams Drop Conference Opener Against Eagles

MINNEAPOLIS – North Central women's soccer hosted its first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference game versus The University of Northwestern-St. Paul on Tuesday afternoon. After a physical 90 minutes of play the Rams fell to the Eagles 5-0. This is the Rams first conference game of the season.

Despite a tough defensive effort by the Rams lead by Sophomore Lindsay Freitag the Eagles got on the board early scoring in the 7th minute of play. The Rams managed to only allow two goals in the first half against a very aggressive Eagles attack. In the second half the Rams kept the score at 2-0 until the last five minutes when the Eagles scored three unanswered goals to finish the game.

Monica Herrera (Capac, Mich./Capac) 4 saves on the day against an Eagles team that took 15 shots and 6 corners.

The Rams are back home again on Friday afternoon versus Finlandia with a 3:00 p.m. kick off. Then Saturday the women travel to Bethany Lutheran for a 2:00 p.m. game.
