MINNEAPOLIS – North Central women's soccer hosted Finlandia University on Friday afternoon and earned a 6-0 win over the Lions. The Rams got on the board early and kept the pressure throughout the game causing difficulty for the Lions defense.

Abby Schwinden (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) lead the Rams on offense with 4 goals and 13 shots. Each of Schwinden's goals came from outside the 18 yard box and ripped the back of the net with force. In addition, Dakotah Sparrman (Apple Valley, Minn./Shattuck St. Mary's) and Mandy Killian (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids) recorded a goal on the day. Both Sparrman and Killian received assists from Lindsay Freitag (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) who helped lead the backline in keeping Finlandia off the board while holding them to 0 shots on goal.

North Central hopes to carry the positive momentum going into an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) matchup tomorrow afternoon in Mankato, Minnesota versus Bethany Lutheran. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
