Box Score MINNEAPOLIS – North Central men's soccer rallied to defend home turf in a 1-0 victory over
Faith Baptist on Tuesday afternoon. Senior
David Afolabi (Champlin Park, Minn./Itasca Community College) scored for the Rams in the second minute in heavy offensive pressure surrounding the goal.
The Rams kept the pressure high in hopes to find the net one more time before the final whistle. Ian Brekhus (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake) and Dennis Morales (Eagan, Minn./Eagan) lead the Rams offensive push with seven and four shots, respectively. Jake Loukinen (Little Falls, Minn./Little Falls) also tallied five shots on the day for the Rams.
North Central starts the year 3-0, a first for the team in recent years. Head Coach Jake Smith debriefed the game saying, "It's great to get the win but there's still a lot we can do to improve and get better."
Men's soccer will be at home on Friday September 9th for a matchup between Upper Midwest Athletic Conference opponent, Martin Luther. The game time is set for 4:15pm. Live stats and video can be found here.
