Box Score MINNEAPOLIS – North Central University women's basketball put together a dominant performance Tuesday night, as nine different players scored and the Rams recorded their highest point total of the season en route to a 77-16 victory over Faith Baptist Bible College.
North Central and Faith Baptist (Ankeny, Iowa) traded buckets just 60 seconds into the game before the Rams went on a pair of short streaks to take a 14-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter of play saw NCU shut down the Eagles' offense while scoring 21 unanswered points throughout the frame, with fourteen of those points coming in the paint from five different players.
Coming out of the halftime locker room, Annabel Morrisroe (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet) had her best stretch of the contest, scoring 10 points in 10 minutes—half of North Central's total for the quarter. Once again, the Rams took advantage of fast-break and post play, scoring 16 of those points under the basket. NCU remained dominant through the fourth quarter as well, going on a 10-0 run to begin the frame and scoring 22 points overall, its best period of the game.
Morrisroe finished with a game-high 24 points, just two shy of her career best. Junior Lizzy Swanson (Askov, Minn./East Central) and freshman Dylan Nino (Phoenix, Ariz./Goldwater) added 12 points, and Swanson also pulled down a game-high seven rebounds. As a team, the Rams shot .565 from the field, their best percentage of the season. NCU also out-rebounded the Eagles 33-19 and committed just 10 turnovers to Faith's 29.
North Central (4-14) will host another two games this weekend, beginning with Finlandia University (3-13) on Friday at 5:30 p.m. This will be the first time these two teams face off this season, as their first scheduled contest in December was cancelled due to weather.
