Rams Volleyball Non-Conference Triangular ends with defeats

MINNEAPOLIS – The North Central University volleyball team hosted Macalester College and Emmaus Bible College in a Non-Conference Triangular Saturday afternoon in Clark-Danielson Gymnasium. The Rams played with energy but were not able to reel in the victory losing 3-2 to Macalester and 3-0 to Emmaus.

NCU got out to a quick lead winning the first two sets against Macalester in the first match of the day, but the Scots won the final three sets to the scores of 25-18, 29-27, 13-25, 20-25, and 16-18. With the first set tied at 14, North Central took advantage with an 8-0 run to secure the set. The second went back and forth until NCU finished with two kills and forced an attack error to take the set. Sophomore Emma Middendorf led the Rams with 16 kills and a .424 kill percentage, Senior Katie Strand added 12 kills. Sophomore Maddie Stocker led the back row with 19 digs and Freshman Grace Hart tallied 18.

North Central finished the triangular with their match versus Emmaus Bible College. The visiting Eagles got in rhythm quickly winning three sets with the scores of 15-25, 17-25, and 15-25. Middendorf and Strand led the team in kills with eight and seven respectively. Three Rams recorded double-digit digs, as Stocker led the way with 18.

The Rams return to conference play this coming Tuesday, October 17 as they host Northland College, for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference matchup. First serve is scheduled for 7:00PM CT in Clark-Danielson Gymnasium.
