MINNEAPOLIS - North Central Men's Soccer (3-4-2, 1-3-2 UMAC) defeated Martin Luther College (4-5, 3-1 UMAC) with a score of 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon in Elliot Park. The Rams grabbed their first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) win of the season and redemption over Knights in the second game of the home/away series. North Central outshot the Knights, 16-13, and held the advantage in corner kicks, 3-1.

This contest saw a closer game than the first of the series, with the score within one goal for most of the game. The Knights scored first in the 6th minute in a defensive breakdown for the Rams. The score was 1-0, Martin Luther at the half. Shortly into the second half, Danny Williams (Coon Rapids, Minn./Spring Lake Park) got the Rams on the board. A penalty kick to the Rams in the 60th minute would give the Rams the 2-1 lead from Josué Boutouli (Lome, Togo/Eagan). North Central dominated the second half with possession and finally broke through the Knights backline to Austin Healy (Apple Valley, Minn./Home school) for his first collegiate goal of his career and extended the Rams lead to 3-1. A quick counter from the Knights off the breakaway brought the score back within one goal at 3-2. North Central would hold off the Knights offense for the last 12 minutes of play for the win.
