MINNEAPOLIS-- North Central Women's Tennis continued play in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action with a home loss to Martin Luther College of Saturday. The Rams fell, 8-1, at the hands of the Knights on the courts at Lifetime Fitness-Fridley.

The lone Rams point on the day came from number two doubles where juniors Jalia Cappelli (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) and Esther Leung (Hong Kong, China/San Diego Christian College) posted an 8-3 win.

Leung nearly earned a victory in the third singles slot. She claimed the first set 7-5 before dropping the second 6-1 and losing the tie-breaker 10-8.

The Rams will be back in action next Saturday when they host The College of St. Mary's (Omaha, Neb.). The match is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start at Lifetime Fitness in Fridley.
