How It Happened
Game 1: North Central scored two runs in the first from a double off the bat of Nora Sullivan (Naperville, Ill./Metea Valley) and a Maranatha Baptist error. The Sabercats quickly stole back the two runs by the Rams and added five more giving Maranatha the 7-2 lead after the first inning. The Rams were able to limit the Sabercats offense in the remaining innings allowing only one run in both the third and fourth inning. North Central scored again in the top of the fourth as Abbey Erzberger (Milwaukee, Wis./Heritage Christian) sent a single beaming to right field sending Amanda Roth home for the run. However, the Rams went scoreless in the fifth while Maranatha added their final two runs in the bottom of the inning to end the game after five, 11-3, Maranatha. Both Erzberger and Sullivan recorded a RBI and went 2-for-3 from the plate.

Another walk of Danelle Pageler (Warren, Minn./Warren-Alvarado-Oslo) advanced the bases and sent Erzberger home. Errors plagued the Rams in the second inning giving up 10 runs on seven hits. The went scoreless until the top of the fifth scoring three runs in attempt to comeback and extend the game beyond five innings.
