Rams Open UMAC Play at Bethany Lutheran Triangular

MANKATO, Minn - The North Central University Volleyball team kicked off Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action Saturday at Bethany Lutheran College in a triangular vs Bethany Lutheran (4-6) and the University of Wisconsin-Superior (6-6).

NCU kicked off the day vs Bethany Lutheran in a four set match. Bethany Lutheran took the first two sets by scores of 25-18, and 25-11. The Rams battled back in the third set 25-20 to force a fourth set. In the fourth, the two teams traded points in a tightly contested set. A Bethany Lutheran attack error tightened in the set at 18-17 in favor of BLC. NCU kept the pace before ultimately falling off the pace and dropping the match.

Emma Middendorf paced the Rams attack with 16 kills overall and a .393 attack percentage. Maddie Stocker recorded 18 digs in the back row while also adding one service ace against Bethany Lutheran.

The Rams took on Wisconsin-Superior to complete the UMAC Triangular. UWS jumped out to an early lead in the first set and kept the high pace throughout the match taking all three sets by scores of 25-11, 25-11, and 25-11. Senior, Katie Strand and sophomore Bethany Wollman each recorded four kills in the match vs UWS.

NCU will be back in action in another UMAC Triangular on Tuesday at the University of Northwestern-St.Paul. The Rams will take on Crown College at 5:00 p.m. followed by a match vs the defending UMAC champions, Northwestern-St.Paul at 7:00 p.m. Live video feed will be provided for both matches on NCUrams.com.
