Rams Fall to Knights

NEW ULM, Minn. - North Central Men's Soccer (1-3-1, 0-2-1 UMAC) fell to Martin Luther College (4-3, 3-0 UMAC) in a Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) matchup on Tuesday afternoon. Kaleb Smith (Kijabe, Kenya/Rift Valley Academy) led the Rams offense with five shots and four shots on goal. Gabe Hartwig (Eagle River, Wis./Northland Pines) had eight saves for the Rams defense. 

Both Rams and Knights had their chances on goal but in the 31st minute Martin Luther was able to break down the Rams defense for the first goal of the game. After the first 45 minutes of play the Rams trailed 1-0 looking to swing momentuem in their direction. Twenty minutes into the second half the Knights were able to captialize again to add to the lead, 2-0. Martin Luther outshot the Rams 21-14 while both teams earned four corners each. 

Up Next: The Rams will travel to Chicago, Ill. for a National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) matchup with Moody Bible Institute on Saturday, Sept. 23. Kickoff in Chicago is scheduled for 2 p.m.
