MINNEAPOLIS - North Central University Women's Soccer (4-4, 1-3 UMAC) defeated Crown College (0-9, 0-4 UMAC), 2-1, on Wednesday afternoon in Elliot Park in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) matchup. The Rams dominated Crown offensively outshooting the Storm 23-6 on the day. Young talent stepped up for the Rams in Cheyenne Brown (Pinetop, Ariz./Blue Ridge) and Emma Brekhus (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake) both getting their first goals of the season and careers.
After a strong start, the Rams finally got on the board from a ball from Brown just outside the 18 yard box on a ball played back in from out wide from newcomer Brea Zellner (Lawrenceville, NJ, Lawrenceville). Through the first 45 minutes of play the Rams held a 1-0 lead. However, in the 49th minute Crown would get on the board from a breakaway opportunity for Anna Kragt.
