MORRIS, Minn. - North Central University softball (7-13, 1-3 UMAC) fell to The University of Minnesota-Morris (8-20, 2-6 UMAC) in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) doubleheader with the Cougars. This set of games was a reschedule from the original April 7 matchup in which inclement weather resulting in the games needing a reschedule.

Game 1: Kylee Bommersbach (Sartell, Minn./Sartell) had three hits in three at bats with two consecutive singles to center field and the final hit of the day to left field. Ali Cornelius (Milaca, Minn./Spectrum) had the fourth hit for the Rams in the top of the fifth inning which advanced Bommersbach to second on the play. A strong second inning for the Cougars helped Morris secure an 8-0 lead through two innings. Strong defense for Cougars limited the Rams to four hits and a scoreless game, a first for the Rams against Morris this season.

Game 2: The Rams offense got going in the second game with Ellee Laws (Odgen, Iowa/Odgen) and Emily Loop (Phelan, Calif./Serrano) both recording two RBI in the game. Amanda Roth (Appleton, Wis./Neenah) had two hits and three runs in the second contest of the day. While Morris got on the board first, 2-0 in the first inning. The Rams scored in three consecutive innings to keep the game close. However, a strong fourth inning for the Cougars helped seal the win for Morris.

Up Next: The Rams will be back in action on Friday, April 13 for a UMAC doubleheader with Martin Luther. The games will be held at the Plymouth Creek Center in Plymouth, Minn. and will begin at 2 p.m.
