FRIDLEY, Minn. - North Central University (NCU) women's tennis kicked off their season with a tough matchup against conference foe, the University of Northwestern - St. Paul (UNW). Although the Rams would ultimately drop all nine matches, they showed real grit as they pushed UNW with constant effort. Perhaps nobody better displayed the steady effort better than North Central's number one singles player, Maddy Meetz, who pushed her match to three sets before falling just short. Head Coach David Stabley stated, "Maddy's efforts almost produced a massive win for our team. She came very close in her third set!" Needless to say, the Rams season looks to be on the upswing as they look forward to continued growth heading into the meat of their schedule.
