Current Students - NCAA Compliance

Step 1 Maintain full-time enrollment (12 credit minimum) unless entering your final semester. Work with the NCU Compliance Office to ensure documentation on your final semester is correct for eligibility purposes.
  • If you choose to drop a class, make sure you add one first, do NOT drop below 12 credits. You will become IMMEDIATELY INELIGIBLE if you drop below 12 credits.
Step 2 Maintain Good Academic Standing
  • Students must be in good academic standing with the university and making satisfactory progress toward their degree to remain eligible for participation in athletics.
  • Good Academic Standing
    • 0-59 completed credits must have a minimum 1.8 cumulative GPA
    • 60+ completed credits must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Satisfactory Progress toward Degree is defined as passing 67% of your attempted credits for each fulltime semester.
    • Keep this in mind when dropping/withdrawing from classes. Withdrawing from class (grade of 'W' on transcript) still counts toward attempted credits. Ask questions if you are unsure!
Step 3 Complete appropriate medical procedures and paperwork in Moodle.
  • Must complete concussion testing with Athletic Training Office before participation in any practice or competition.
  • All North Central Student-Athletes MUST have active health insurance and provide a copy of their insurance card—front and back.
  • All paperwork in Moodle course must be completed.
Step 4 Attend an NCAA rules meeting
  • Attendance of NCAA Rules Meeting with the Athletics Department. Contact coach with questions regarding details of the meeting.
