Konrad Bueckers

Konrad Bueckers joined the NCU esports staff in the fall of 2022. Bueckers will be overseeing the Fortnite team for NCU this year.

Bueckers started gaming when he was young, playing Super Smash Bros on the GameCube and Mario Kart on the Wii. "Nothing beats the inclusivity of gaming as I remember teaching my Grandma how to drift her cart while racing on Mario Kart’s Rainbow Road. Video games were something that my whole family could participate in and it was amazing to see everyone’s initial skepticism relinquished and overall excitement toward the activity".

Fortnite was right in the height of its popularity when Bueckers made his way to college. He and all of his friends would regularly be found on the Fortnite server together, logging countless hours playing and learning the game.

This is Bueckers second year here at North Central University as he was a graduate transfer on the basketball team in 2021. "I look forward to pouring myself into the esports program and am excited to see what opportunities esports will open up for our athletes and school".
