2024 Season Highlights

Competed in both the indoor and outdoor season for the Rams... In the indoor season, set a new program record in the weight throw at the Gene Glader Classic with a throw of 13.48 meters... At the UMAC Indoor Championship, she placed 6th in the weight throw (11.65m) and 8th in the shot put (9.64m)... In the outdoor season, Micayla recorded her personal best in the javelin throw with a mark of 10.85 meters at the Rider/Bolstorff Invite... At the UMAC Outdoor Championship, she set a career best in the shot put with a distance of 10.01 meters to take 9th place... Qualified for the NCCAA Outdoor National Championships in the hammer throw... Broke the NCU record for HT with a distance of 41.49 meters to take 12th place at nationals... Earned the UMAC Indoor T&F Sportsmanship Award... UMAC Indoor T&F Academic All-Conference... Named an NCCAA Scholar Athlete... Ram of the Week once.

2023 Season Highlights

Competed in both the indoor and outdoor season for the Rams... In the indoor season, threw her best marks in both the weight throw in 9.45 meters and in the shot put hitting 9.89 meters at the Gene Glader Classic... In outdoor, Micayla threw a season best in the hammer throw with a mark of 29.39 meters at the Rider/Bolstorff Invitational... Recorded her best throw in the discus at the Holst Invitational, marking 29.29 meters... At the UMAC Outdoor Championships, finished 7th in the shot put (9.80 meters) scoring 2 points for the team... UMAC Indoor & Outdoor T&F Academic All-Conference.

2022 Season Highlights

Competed in outdoor track and field for the Rams... Recorded her furthest mark in the discus throw at 26.51 meters at the UWRF Falcon Invitational... Also competed in shot put with her best mark of 9.35 meters at the UMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships where she earned a spot in the finals.

2021 Season Highlights

Competed in outdoor track and field for the Rams... Participated in the shot put... Threw her personal best at the UMAC Track and Field Championships with a distance of 9.42 meters, finishing in 10th place overall.

Prep Career

Attended De LaSalle Institute... 2x state qualifier in discus... 2x sectional champ in discus... First female to play three sports at DLS... Member of National Honor Society... Honor Roll all four years... Also participated in choir, girl scouts, and drama... Class officer for HFS Chicago Scholars... Intern at Rush University Medical Center.

Born 9/16/99 in Chicago, Illinois... American sign language major... mother is Diana Jones... mother is a program service aide at UIC and attended Northeastern Illinois University... has four siblings, Max, Myles, Brandon, and Mykiah. Micayla also says that Chicago is the best city... Currently working on her Master's in Strategic Leadership at North Central.
