George Arroyo Jr.

George Arroyo Jr. is in his second year as the Director of Athletics at North Central University. He began his role on August 1st, 2024. 

George previously served as Director of Athletics at Ohio Christian University, resulting in an increase of community outreach and GPAs, NAIA 5 Star Institution recognitions, additional sports and facility enhancements, and technology advancements, including increased communication throughout the institution. Over the past 12 years, Arroyo Jr. has prepared himself to lead athletics by working closely alongside campus departments with a goal to enhance the student experience. He has directed outreach projects, coordinated events, and participated in various academic and student development committees. 
 
Arroyo Jr. played soccer at Southeastern University, where his team won a National Title in 2007. After graduating in 2008, Arroyo Jr. moved into college coaching while working as a physical education and health instructor at Citrus Park Christian. Following a short stint as an assistant coach at Southeastern University, he became the head women’s soccer coach at Warner University in 2012. At Warner, Arroyo Jr. guided the Royals to their first-ever NCCAA Regional Tournament and National Tournament Appearance. He was named the NCCAA D1 South Region Coach of the Year in 2015 and served as the NCCAA South Region Chair in 2016.
 
In 2017, Arroyo Jr. was named head women’s soccer coach at Eastern Nazarene College. At ENC, he received experience in the classroom as a professor in the Sport Management department while also serving as the Community Service Coordinator. In 2018, he led the soccer program to the NECC quarterfinals.
 
Ohio Christian University hired Arroyo Jr. in 2020 as head men’s soccer coach, affiliate faculty, and compliance coordinator. In 2021, he was promoted to Director of Athletics, and in 2022, Chair of the Sport Business Management department. During his time as AD, Arroyo Jr. led the institution through an organizational change to NCCAA and revamped operations using Teamworks and ARI. Recently, his soccer team was recognized as the NAIA RSC Team of Character.
 
Arroyo Jr. holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southeastern University and a master’s degree in Sport Science from the United States Sports Academy. Shortly after, he went on to receive a master’s degree in business administration from Warner University. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Leadership at Columbia International University.
 
He currently lives in Minneapolis, MN with his wife Beth Arroyo, son Zion Cristiano, daughter Zara Leilani, and dog Mango.
