Greg Sweeney is entering his fourth season as the Head Men's Golf Coach and first season as the Head Women's Golf Coach for the 2025-26 season. Prior to this, Sweeney served as NCU's Director of Golf Operations for 3 years.Â
Greg comes to NCU with a wealth of training and experience in athletics, as well as a heart for teaching and coaching the game of golf. Sweeney's passion for the game of golf was developed after injuries cut his basketball career short. He trained for four years under former PGA touring professional Byron Williams, and former head professional, Mike Green. In addition to individual instruction at several courses, Greg coached both basketball and golf at the high school level in California.Â
Greg is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. His pastoral ministry began in 1983 as a youth and music intern in the Southern California district, and has since pastored at churches in California, Colorado, and Michigan. In addition, he has been blessed with the opportunity of traveling all over the world speaking and preaching in Asia and South America.
While ministry and athletics have been a large part of Greg's life, his greatest priority is family. Greg has been married to his wife Tracy for 38 years, and has four adult children.
