Originally from Oklahoma, John Dao currently resides in North St. Paul, Minnesota. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2022 before completing his Master of Athletic Training from Winona State University in 2026.
Outside of athletic training, John enjoys basketball, kayaking, and snowboarding. He also has a passion for troubleshooting and DIY projects, always enjoying the opportunity to figure out how things work and find solutions to challenges.
An avid outdoorsman, John has hiked the Teton Range and swam in Lake Solitude, located at an elevation of roughly 9,000 feet. He is also a proud Minnesota transplant, with family ties to the Rochester area, including an older sister who works as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Professionally, Dao aspires to leave a positive mark on his patients and make a meaningful contribution to the discipline of athletic training. He is passionate about providing quality care, building relationships with those he works with, and helping student-athletes perform at their best.
