Neely Tamminga enters her 2nd academic year as NCU's Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR). She is passionate about connecting North Central's athletes with the rest of campus to foster community and unity. Tamminga began her role in the 2024 fall semester.
Beginning her time at North Central in the Fall of 2020 as an adjunct professor, Neely currently works with most of North Central's athletes as an academic advisor as well as a business professor. Prior to her time at NCU, Tamminga spent over twenty years working on Wall Street with Piper Sandler (formerly Piper Jaffray) as a sell-side analyst leading the consumer research team. She graduated from Calvin University (formerly Calvin College) with a bachelor's in Economics. She continued her educational journey through Saint Louis University, graduating with an MBA with a Finance Concentration.
Neely is the recipient of many prestigious awards, including the Gordon Anderson Faculty of the Year (North Central University, 2024), Bill Green Service Award (North Central University, 2024), Best on the Street by the Wall Street Journal (2006, 2011), and Top Retail Expert RETHINK Retail by Microsoft (2022, 2023, 2024).
Neely shows her support for athletics on and off the court, continuing to build community among NCU athletes. She and her husband, Steve Tamminga, have a son named Samuel. When she isn't at the gymnasium or field watching the Rams, she enjoys spending time fly fishing.
