Rams Take Game One of Pool Play in the NCCAA National Tournament

Box Score

Game Vitals

  • Pensacola Christian is the 4th seed in the tournament and the defending NCCAA National Champions.
  • The Rams were outshot (6 to 3) but were able to capitalize on their opportunities.

Game Recap

  • North Central had over a week off in preparation for the tournament on Tuesday evening, but they did not stray from their strong defensive effort that helped them through the regional tournament. The Rams were able to slow the Eagles offensive pace for much of the contest, however when they found opportunities, Gabe Hartwig, was able to stymie any shot attempt. Both teams were locked in a defensive battle that sent the teams to the break in a 0-0 tie. The second half was much of the same as neither could create much separation on the offensive side of the field. Senior, Dennis Morales, was able to leak through the defense in the 74th minute and score an unassisted goal for the Rams. In a game that did not lack defensive effort, Morales's goal proved to be the enough for the Rams as they were able to keep the Eagles scoreless the rest of the way en route to the 1-0 victory
