MINNEAPOLIS, Minn - North Central University opened their season Friday, with a big home victory over the Blue Angels from Mount Mary University. The win gives coach Montgomery her first career win as head coach for the Rams. Freshman, Payton Swoboda, also busted on to the scene in a big way; she would finish the game with five goals, which puts her number one in the record books for goals scored in a game at NCU. The record was previously set by Dakotah Sparman, against Finlandia on 9/1/2015.

• North Central was early to strike as Freshman, Payton Swoboda, recorded her first collegiate goal in the 3rd minute of the game to give the Rams a 1-0 lead. Swoboda quickly added to her goal total in the 6th minute, making the lead 2-0. Senior, Cheyenne Brown, kept the scoring going in the eighth minute with a goal of her own. The Rams would end the first half with a 3-0 lead, but they were not done yet. Swoboda would add three more goals in the second half, while junior,Emma Brekhus, got in on the action with a goal in the 55th minute. The Rams would tack on a total of three more goals before the final whistle, to give them a 10-0 win over Mount Mary University in the Home Opener.
