Box Score DUBUQUE, Iowa -- North Central University (NCU) traveled across the Iowa border to Dubuque to take on the Eagles of Emmaus Bible College for the second time this season. After defeating the Eagles at home just a week prior, the Rams took it to the Eagles again on their home court. After scoring over 70 points in the first 20 minutes, the Rams continued to knock down shots in the final period to extend their lead and run away with a 139-53 victory over the Eagles. The 86 point victory will stand as a new school record for largest margin of victory in a single contest in Men's Basketball history at North Central.
Game Recap
The first half opened as a back and forth battle in which the Rams saw the Eagles continue to hang in there and match each of their punches. The Eagles muscled up a basket in the paint off of an offensive rebound to cut the Ram's lead to 5 at the 14 minute mark, but it seemed to be all Rams after that. In the next 5 minutes the Rams orchestrated a 21-4 run that helped them push their lead to 22 with just over 9 minutes to play in the half. NCU eventually stretched that run out to out score the Eagles 53-15 after the first five minutes to close the half. The Rams came out of the break still firing, opening up the game even farther thanks to a 17-0 run in the first five minutes of the final period. NCU continued to ride their defense the rest of the contest allowing just 25 second half points in their big victory on the road.
