Game Recap
  • The Rams jumped out to an early 8-0 lead in the contest thanks to some suffocating defense, as the Cougars missed their first seven attempts from the field. Morris is was also plagued by some for early turnovers and were unable to get on the scoreboard until nearly five minutes into the ball game. The Cougars used the next three minutes to steal momentum and the lead as they settled in on the offensive end to the tune of a 12-0 run. The two continued to trade buckets as Morris clung to their lead late in the half. until Dolan Tierney sliced through the Cougar defense for the tear drop. The Rams closed the half on an 11-3 run to head to the break with a 34-29 lead. Morris found their rhythm in the second half from behind the arc early as they knocked down 5 of 7 three-point attempts for their first 15 points of the half. The Rams continued to battle behind an impressive performance from Jared High, but Morris seemed to always answer with another triple. The Cougars connected on 13 triples throughout the night, 9 of those came in the second half. University of Minnesota Morris senior, Noah Grove, knocked down four of those second half three-pointers and converted on a layup that proved to be the proverbial dagger, stretching the Cougar lead to seven.
