GAME RECAP
Justin Torres (0-1) received the starting nod and was not able to find much rhythm through much of the ballgame. The Red Men got to Torres early in the first inning knocking down 3 runs on four hits. The Rams looked to answer in the bottom half of the inning as
Cory Kukkola singled as the lead off hitter, but NCU was unable to move him, failing to record another hit in the inning.
After a scoreless second inning by both ball clubs, the runs started to pile up. Unfortunately for the Rams, those runs were coming in one-sided. Carthage used a 5 run fifth inning to really open the game up and knock Torres out of the ballgame. Freshman,
Caiden Gelowicz, took the mound in relief for his first collegiate pitching appearance. The rookie did give up one earned run, but he finished his 0.2 innings with two strikeouts.
Grant Payne finished the final inning off for the Rams on the mound as the game ended in 7 innings with the Rams failing to string hits together.
NCU struggled to stay consistent during the ballgame, only recording 4 total hits throughout the contest. Senior,
Cory Kukkola , led all NCU hitters with two total hits as he finished 1.000 on the day bumping his season average to .571.

NCU will enjoy an off day tomorrow, but will be back in action on Thursday, March 7th, for a doubleheader. The Rams will play Valley City State (12:30 p.m. MST) and Dakota Wesleyan University (3:00 p.m. MST)
