Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Rams just miss in narrow defeat

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --North Central University (NCU) welcomed Martin Luther College (MLC) to Elliot Park Field in front of a huge homecoming crowd. The tale of the match would be a measure of inches as the Rams would be denied despite a strong offensive attack throughout the game. Both teams showed grit in a defensive struggle, however it would be the MLC Knights who would eventually walk away with a 2-0 victory.

Game Vitals

  • The Rams out shot the Knights 10:5 in the second period, however, the team was unable to capitalize on the advantage
  • The Knights placed 9 shots on goal compared to NCU's 4
Game Recap
Both teams were tied up in a defensive battle for most of the game as neither offense was able to find the back of the net in the first half. Following the first period of play, MLC would strike in the 58th and 66th minutes while the Rams would find themselves barely missing on multiple occasions. The Rams offense controlled the pace of the game in the second half but was unable to capitalize on great opportunities. During the period, NCU would take twice as many shots as the Knights, although none squeaked through for a goal. When the final horn sounded, MLC had defeated North Central by a score of 2-0.
