WATERTOWN, Wis. – The North Central University (NCU) was on the road on Saturday afternoon as they squared of against the Sabercats of Maranatha Baptist University (MBU). The two clubs met earlier this month up in Minneapolis in a back and forth battle that ended in a narrow victory for the Sabercats. Maranatha came out on fire looking to come away with the same outcome, btu the Rams battled back with a 49 point second half to come away with a 6 point road victory.

Fueled by an efficient shooting first quarter (62%), the Sabercats grew their lead to 19 in the second quarter. Finding themselves in a deep early hole, the Rams found a spark off of the bench in the form of
Jocelyn Talso. The Freshman guard came off the bench and knocked down 5 first half threes including one to beat the buzzer and cut the deficit back down to single digits. After registering a mere 13 points in the first quarter, the Rams strung together three straight quarters of over 20 points, allowing them to eventually take their largest lead in the game (12) right at the end of the third quarter. MBU was able to cut into their deficit in the final 10 minutes, but NCU kept their foot on the gas en route to an 88-82 victory avenging their loss on January 9th.

Looking Ahead
NCU women's hoops turns their focus back to conference play as they host the College of St. Scholastica on Wednesday evening. While the Rams sit as the 4th seed in the current Upper Midwest Athletic Conference standings, the Saints find themselves on the outside looking up at the Rams. Wednesday night's clash of conference foes will tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
