MINNEAPOLIS – The North Central University administration had decided to move next week's academic courses to an online model in response to the COVID-19 virus. While there are no known or suspected cases of the COVID-19 virus on the North Central campus, the Senior Leadership Team of North Central University has implemented a plan that includes no in-person, on-campus instruction for the week of March 16-22. In response, all Athletics operations, which includes varsity practices and games for all in-season sports, will be suspended through at least March 23, 2020. NCU Athletics events beyond March 23 will be considered in the near future when more information is available and student-athletes are encouraged not to be on campus.
"The health and wellbeing of our student-athletes and coaches is of utmost importance," said Director of Athletics Greg Johnson. He continued, "Our institution's leaders have made efforts to keep COVID-19 away from campus, and believe that suspending Athletics operations as part of the overall campus response is the appropriate action to take."
Any potential rescheduling of games will be done on a case-by-case basis.
