Big team win for women's basketball

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The North Central University (NCU) hosted their second home game of the season and faced off against Mount Mary University (MMU). The Rams had five players in double figures in their monumental win over the Blue Angels ending the game with a score of 104-49.

Game Recap

NCU dominated this game from start to finish in all areas possible. The Rams held MMU to only eight points in the first quarter and scored 25 of their own. With aggressive man to man defense, NCU disrupted the flow of the Blue Angel's offense and translated their stops into offense. The Rams had ten steals and forced 21 MMU turnovers. NCU scored 32 of those turnovers to keep the their lead large.

The Ram's offense was the highlight of the night as five players were in double figures, eight players with one three or more, and the whole team contributed to score with at least two points. The bench added 49 points to the Rams 104. Naomi Hagstrom (Zimmerman, MN, Zimmerman High School) led NCU with 19 points followed by Emily DiGiorgio (Ironwood, MI, Luther L. Wright High School) with 13. NCU had 22 total assists. Jocelyn Talso (Ramsey, MN, Spring Lake Park High School) and Aubrey Robinson (Colorado Springs, CO, Sierra High School) had seven each of those assists. The competitive yet fun energy from all 14 players on the Rams squad was infectious as the crowd adopted the same spirit. With the 55 point win, NCU moved to 3-0 on the season.

Key Performers
  • Naomi Hagstrom was big on the offensive end with 19 points.
  • Senior Emily DiGiorgio scored 13 points in just 11 minutes.
  • With three three pointers, Kadija Conteh (London, UK, City of London Academy) added 11 points and five rebounds.

Looking Ahead
