MINNEAPOLIS, Minn – For the first time in North Central University (NCU) Athletics history, the
Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Championship will be hosted in Clark-Danielson Gymnasium on Monday night. In a contest that will provide the Rams with an opportunity to make history and end their 2020-21 season on a win, the number one seeded NCU women's basketball team will clash with the number three seeded Bethany Lutheran College (BLC) Vikings for the right to be crowed as champions.
The Rams and Vikings have previously met once so far this year, dating back to March 1
st when BLC managed to come out on top 69 to 88. Several Rams made their impact felt individually in the previous matchup, all of which will be looking to capitalize on their performances this time around. Junior guard
Kadija Conteh (London, UK, City of London Academy) led the Rams and clicked on all cylinders offensively, netting a career-high 30 points on a highly efficient 6-of-9 shooting from beyond the arc. Following
Conteh was junior center
Emily DiGiorgio (Ironwood, MI, Luther L. Wright High School), who managed to chip in 16 points herself on 50 percent shooting from three. Guard
Jocelyn Talso (Ramsey, MN, Spring Lake Park High School) has come onto the collegiate scene in her freshman campaign creating monumental buzz around the conference. In the contest against the Vikings,
Talso recorded an all-around stat line of 9 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds, just shy of notching a triple-double.
