Box Score 2 North Central University (NCU) volleyball swept both Finlandia and Crown today. Along with the victories, starting setter
Grace Brigson (West Salem, WI) surpassed her 1,000
th career assist in her sophomore season.
MATCH 1
NCU played conference opponent, Crown College (Polars) first. Their sweep was well earned, but still a battle. They won all three sets 25-14, 28-26, 25-19.
In set one, Grace achieved her 1,000
th assist off of a slide kill from
Hailey Lerfald (Wanamingo, MN). Lerfald had 8 kills and hit .571% this match.
Set two was a tighter match as the Rams were down by 7 and came back with a power ace from
Kayla Stachowiak (Lino Lakes, MN) to finish the set.
The third set was dominated by NCU's outsides, as
Cara Pence (Litchfield, IL) had 17 kills and hit .519%, while
Gabi Reiser (Berlin, WI) finished the night off with an uncontested kill.
MATCH 2
The Rams had another nail biter second set against Finlandia (Lions), but still won in three 26-24, 26-24, and 25-16.
Set one was a neck and neck battle, where the Rams depended on their defense and solid serve receive.
Maci Tripp (Waupaca, WI) had 8 digs on the night and passed a 2.3.
In set two, NCU found themselves losing 19-23, but managed to make a comeback with
Andrea Wollman (Menno, SD) consistent hits. Wollman hit 9 kills with no errors on the match.
North Central found some confidence in set three by forcing their middles.
Hailey Lerfald (Wanamingo, MN) lead the team with 10 kills and 2 blocks. The Rams ended the night on an overpass kill by
Makayla Krohnberg (Blaine, MN) who had 6 kills and 10 digs against the Lions.
STATISTICS
The Rams are now 14-7 which is a program high for team.
