Box Score Morris, MN- The North Central University Rams women's soccer traveled for a conference matchup between the University of Minnesota Morris Cougars. The conference matchup was a little too much for the Rams as they lost two goals to none.
In the first period, the Rams matched the energy of the Cougars keeping it a balanced game. Until the twenty-fourth minute when the Cougars found a way to get passed the Rams and put in the first goal of the game. The Rams didn't allow the goal to shake them up as they played well defensively for the rest of the half. Heading into the half the score was Cougars one, and Rams none.
The start of the second period wasn't what the Rams wanted. In the fifty-seventh minute the Cougars would extend their lead after scoring a goal. Once the Cougars gained their 2-0 lead they were able to keep the ball away from the Rams as they dominated the possession and made it hard for the Rams to score.
Kara Lewis (Mandeville, LA) did her best job to apply pressure on the Cougars with her six shots on the goal, but none of them were able to go in. The game came to an end as the Cougars would take a two to none win.
Looking ahead:
The Rams are looking forward for a home matchup against UW-Superior on Friday, October 21, at 3:30pm.
