Box Score Ashland, WI- The North Central Rams women's volleyball team hit the road for a matchup against the Northland College Lumberjills. Both teams brought their "A" game, as the game went to the fifth set where the Lumberjills would take it three sets to two.
The Rams would come out the cannons hot as they took the first set with a score of 25-21. The Rams picked up 10 kills as a squad in the first set alone.
Makayla Krohnberg (Blaine, MN) played a huge factor today as she picked up 12 kills as well as scooping up 13 digs for the Rams. Set 2 was just a slight set back for the Rams as the Lumberjills would take the set with a score of 25-21. NCU would rally and take the third set with a score of 25-17 giving them a two set to one lead.
With the two to one set lead the Rams looked good heading into the fourth set. But, the Lumberjills would catch fire as they stole the fourth set with a score of 25-19. The game was now tied at two sets a piece. Heading into the final set both teams looked to jump out in front and take the lead. The set would go back and forth as neither team was up by 2 with a score of 15. The game would continue and the Lumberjills would pull ahead and win the set 18-16.
Despite the loss, very big performance from
Grace Brigson (West Salem, WI) as she rallied up 31 assists on the day as well as scooping up 17 digs for NCU.
