Box Score Ankeny, IA -- In the first game of the Faith Baptist Classic, North Central University (NCU) came out with authority in a dominating win over Central Christian College of the Bible. Both teams would battle hard early on, but it was the blue and gold that was able to pull away. The final score of the contest would be 87-64 in favor of the Rams over the Saints.
At the start of the contest, it was a close game between the two squads. As both the Saints and the Rams struggled from the field, having shooting percentages under 40%, the first half would come to a close with the Rams in front by just two points. After coming out of the break, the NCU would hit their stride. North Central continued to hold the Saints under 40% shooting in the second half while the Rams were able to connect at a 54% clip.Â
The game was highlighted by great all-around performances, with five Rams players scoring in double digits. The Rams also won the battle for rebounds (46-29), turnovers (10-18), and steals (8-5). Shooting just 28% from behind the arc for the night, North Central was able to shoot an outstanding 87.5% rate from the free throw line.
