Minneapolis, MN - The NCCAA North Regional Women's Soccer Tournament began with a matchup between the #4 Maranatha Baptist versus the #5 North Central University. This was the only game of the day for the women's squads which ended in a 1-0 victory for the Sabercats of Maranatha in a low scoring affair.
The game started off heavily in Maranatha's favor, and they were able to make it count as they scored what would end up being the game winning goal in the eleventh minute of the match. The strike came off the foot of
Chelsea Graham. The rest of the game was fairly even between the Sabercats and the Rams with an equal amount of scoring chances, but neither team was able to find the back of the twine again, making the score of 1-0 the final.
In net for Maranatha was
Mallory Willette, who was able to post the shut out with six saves in the contest.
Ariana Don got the start for the Rams in net, stopping six shots while giving up just the one goal.Â
