Box Score Ankeny, IA - The North Central Rams volleyball team traveled down to Ankeny, Iowa for the North Regional NCCAA Tournament this week. In their first game, they were able to take down Calvary, three sets to one.
The Rams came out strong in the first set winning the first six points. The Warriors would attempt to fight back in the first set but were unable to claw there way back. The first set ended in a final score of 25-17 in favor of the Rams. The Warriors were able to bounce back in the second set and ended up taking the set 25-23 over the Rams, tying the match at 1-1. In the third set, the Rams would storm backing taking a commanding win, 25-15 and putting them ahead 2-1 in the match. The Rams would then close the deal with a 25-19 victory in the fourth set, giving them the match.
The Rams had big performances offensively out of
Makayla Krohnberg (Blaine, MN) and
Cara Pence (Litchfield, IL), who had fourteen and twelve kills, respectively. Krohnberg led the way on the defensive side as well with a team lead of nineteen digs.
Grace Brigson (West Salem, WI) pitched in with fourteen digs as well, while also leading the team with a whopping thirty-six assists as well.

The Rams play on Tuesday (11/8) at 3:00 PM in the championship matchup with the chance to win and play at the NCCAA Nationals in Flordia next week.
