MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The North Central University (NCU) baseball team matched up with Crown College for the third time this weekend with a noon start. The
Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) number one ranked Storm beat the Rams with a 12-0 final score.
Game Recap
In the first inning, CC quickly scored two runs and didn't let the Rams even have a chance to score in the first. The Storm two more runs in the second inning making the score 4-0.
Christian Rodriguez (Tuscon, AZ, Catalina Foothills High School) hit a single to center field, NCU's only hit of the game. The Rams were unable to get
Rodriguez home and CC stepped back up to the plate. The Storm brought in another run but shortstop
Matthew Oakley (Concord, NC, International Christian School of Budapest) tallied two of the three outs to end the third inning. The fourth inning brought three more runs for CC and unfortunately none for the Rams. NCU did hold the Storm scoreless in the fifth inning with outs from right fielder
Julian Encinas (Tucson, AZ, Amphitheater High school) and second baseman
Chris Garza. The sixth and seventh brought four more runs for CC as the toppled the Rams 12-0.
NCU moves to 6-8 on the season and 3-5 in the conference.Â
