SAINT PAUL, MN -- The North Central University (NCU) men's and women's track and field teams headed to Division II university, Concordia Saint Paul, for the Holst Invitational. Despite the rain and wind throughout the day, the Rams competed for an overall good meet.
Sprints:
Leading off in the 100 meter dash,
Jackson Omeja posted a impressive time of 11.45 seconds earning him 47th place in a field of 71. Omeja also earned the top spot in the 200 meter dash posting a time of 23.55 seconds.
Serena Lanes was the top finisher in the 100 meter and the 200 meter for the team, with times of 13.79 seconds in the 100 and 28.88 in the 200.
Distance:
In the men's 1500 meter,
Jack Campbell ran to a time of 5:02.89 with
Michael Herr-Zielke a hundredth of a second behind in a 5:02.90. Campbell was also the top finisher in the 800 meter, hitting a 2:23.33, a season best.
On the women's side,
Elizabeth Lofstad finished the 1500 meter in 5:11.91, while also taking in the 800 meter in 2:32.45.
Kayley Hyland was the first to cross the line for the Rams in the 5k, hitting a time of 22:42.
Jumps:
On the women's side,
Makayla Krohnberg hit the furthest mark in the long jump with 3.92 meters for the team. In the triple jump,
Bethany Shield put down a final mark of 9.60 meters.
Taking a break from the high jump,
Isaac Weiers earned an impressive long jump mark of 5.84 meters. Senior
Kayden Sund dominated in the high jump, finishing in 6th place with a jump of 6'2.75".
Relays:
For the 4 x 100 meter,
Jackson Omeja,
Nehemiah Juaire,
Tian Elder, and
Carson Kleiber, ran a collective time of 46.06 seconds. Finishing up the meet in the 4 x 400 meter,
Barnabas Preble, Erik Lange,
Derek Burgin, and
Tian Elder, finished the relay in 3:41.45.
