COON RAPIDS, Minn. -- The North Central University (NCU) baseball team started off their three-game series with the Vikings of Bethany Lutheran College (BLC). The 
Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opponent bested the Rams in eight innings 11-1.
Game Recap
The top of inning one was short as NCU's pitcher 
Julian Encinas (Tucson, AZ, Amphitheater High school), first baseman 
Teyghan Hovland (Austin, MN, Austin High School), and left fielder 
Kristian Garcia (Las Vegas, LV, Palo Verde High School) secured three quick outs. BLC also secured three quick outs and for the next three innings, turned it up on the offensive end. The Vikings scored five runs in the second inning, one run in the third, and two runs in the fourth, all answered by the Rams. NCU pushed back in the fifth inning holding BLC scoreless with outs by center fielder 
Kyle Huerth (Moorpark, CA, Moorpark High School), shortstop 
Matthew Oakley (Concord, NC, International Christian School of Budapest), and third baseman 
Nate Boyer (Tempe, AZ, Seton Catholic High School). Catcher 
Christian Rodriguez (Tuscon, AZ, Catalina Foothills High School) aided the Ram's defense greatly with seven put outs on the day. NCU didn't have any luck at bat until the sixth inning when 
Rodriguez singled down the right field line to bring in 
Huerth for their first score of the day. 
Daniel Montana (Tucson, AZ, Cienega High School) hit a single to left field in the seventh inning and 
Garcia hit a single in the eigth inning, but both batters were left on base. The Vikings scored three more runs to bring the score to 11-1 in BLC's favor. 
Key Performers
	- Christian Rodriguez had the Ram's only RBI of the day along with seven put outs at catcher.
- At center field, Kyle Huerth grabbed four put outs along with scoring one run.
