Box Score Storm Lake, IA -- Back for their second game of the weekend, the North Central University (NCU) Men's Soccer team traveled to compete against the Buena Vista Beavers this afternoon. The Rams secured a 3 - 1 win against their competitor from the American Rivers Conference (Iowa).
Game Recap:
The win secured by the team would not have been possible without the phenomenal defense on the field. Buena Vista compiled only three shots on goal with just one of them passing through to the net.
Impressing in the first half,
Adam Vang (Green Bay, WI) hit the first goal for the team quickly, only in the 17th minute of the game. Vang's goal was assisted by freshman
Alex Chacich (Hibbing,MN), who also assisted the second goal made for the Rams fulfilled by
Camilo Casas (Cape Coral, FL) in the 27th minute. Shortly after the two goals in the first half, sophomore
Alex Loukinen (Little Falls, MN) took the ball back to the net with two attempted shots.
Starting off the second half strong,
Weston Buckley (Budapest, HU) charged to a shot on goal in the 49th minute in an attempt to add another point to the tally. Quickly after, Buckley found success with his first goal of the game assisted by
Christopher Martin (Minneapolis, MN). The team fought hard after their third goal, but were unable to bring another to the net. Their persistence and hard work on the field lead them to an impressive 3 - 1 win against the Beavers.
