Box Score Minneapolis, MN - The Men's Soccer team was able to come out with the win versus the Finlandia Lions on Wednesday (9/14) afternoon. It was a tough-fought game that was decided with a few clutch goals for the Rams.
The game started with intense play and overall good defense from both sides. The Lions were able to find their way into the scoring column first with a goal coming in the fourteenth minute, putting them up 1-0. The Rams continued to fight when right before the end of the first half,
Alex Chacich was able to fire one home in the 42nd minute to tie the game at one a piece.Â
In the second half, both teams came out firing, but it was the Rams that were able to break the tie and take the lead. The goal coming off the foot of
Weston Buckley in the 68th minute, gave the Rams the game-winning goal as the score would stay the same for the remainder of the match.
Michael Machuca got the start in the net for the Rams, saving thirteen shots while allowing just one goal.Â
