Box Score Minneapolis, MN - Men's Soccer fought hard in a close matchup against the Crown College Polars, that ended in a final score of 3-2 in favor of the Polars. The game was physical from start to finish with multiple yellow cards on both teams through out the game against the rival schools.
It was a physical match the entirety of the game, and as the game wound down in the final minutes, the intensity was at a sky high. Early on, the Rams got down early, with a goal being scored by the polars in the eighth minute. It did not take long for the Rams to respond as
Alex Chacich (Hibbing,MN) was able to capitalize on a turnover, intercepting the pass right in front of the net to score his fourth goal of the season in the tenth minute to tie the game at one a piece. The Polars would come back strong as they were able to score in the thirty-fifth minute, and again right before the half in the forty fourth minute, giving them a 3-1 lead over the Rams at the break.Â
The Rams would come back with great intensity in the second half, and would eventually be rewarded with a penalty shot, that
Weston Buckley (Budapest, HU) was able to capitalize on, bringing the score within one sitting at 2-3 in favor of the Polars. The Rams would continue putting on the pressure for the remainder of the game with multiple scoring chances, put were unable to find the back of the net, leaving the final score at 2-3.Â
Looking Ahead:
The Rams head down to Mankato on Thursday (9/29) of next week to take on Bethany Lutheran College in another big conference matchup.
