Rams struggle to handle the Vikings fire power

Box Score Mankato, MN - The Rams men's soccer team struggled to handle the fire power of the Bethany Lutheran Vikings in a 1-8 loss on the road on Thursday (9/29) evening.

The Vikings put the pressure on in this contest very early, and were able to find the back of the net in the eighth minute and the tenth minute giving them a 0-2 lead. The Vikings wouldn't stop there, as they would continue to pepper shots at the Rams net, and were able to capitalize with another goal in the twenty-third minute and the thirty-first minute. The score would remain 0-4 in favor of the Vikings for the remainder of the first half.

In the second half, the pressure from the Vikings continued to be to much for the Rams, with Bethany Lutheran scoring again in the fifty-second, sixtieth, and seventy-second minutes, giving them a commanding lead of 0-7. The Rams were able to get on the board in the seventy-seventh minute of the match, off the foot of Anthony Medina (Elk River, MN). Unfortunately, it was to late for the Rams to make any sort of comeback. The Vikings would find the back of the net one more time in the eighty-ninth minute, to bring the score to the eventual final of 1-8.

Looking Ahead:

The Rams come back home to play at Elliott Park on Saturday (10/1) against Martin Luther College at 3:30 P.M.
